Johnny Sánchez is a collaboration between two old friends who happen to be world-class, James Beard Award-winning chefs, John “Johnny” Besh and Aarón Sánchez.

The pair first met when Aarón began his career in John’s hometown of New Orleans, and their bond grew stronger while competing against each other on Food Network’s Next Iron Chef. They have been inseparable ever since, and the two friends joined forces to open Johnny Sánchez, a spirited taqueria where they express their passions for culinary heritage and high quality, locally-sourced ingredients. In creating Johnny Sánchez, they collaborated on everything from the perfect tacos and tostadas, to the beer, wine, and cocktails, to the décor. The menu takes a contemporary approach to authentic Mexican cuisine and features the big, bold and powerful flavors that Aarón is known for. Menu sections include entradas, tacos, tostadas, ensaladas, and specialty dishes. Signature dishes include Mangalitsa Pork Belly Carnitas Tacos, Squash Blossom Quesadillas, and Lamb Enchiladas.

Johnny Sánchez’s beverage list boasts an extensive tequila and mezcal menu, with over 45 varieties of the traditional Mexican spirits in addition to bourbons, beers, wines and handcrafted margaritas, sangria and specialty cocktails. The lounge features weekly entertainment including live bands and Deejay’s adding to a vibrant late night scene.

“We love to cook, eat, drink and make people happy and that’s why we’re doing this” says Besh. Adds Sánchez, “This is the food that John and I love to cook when we’re hanging out together having fun… It’s all from the heart!”
